Introduction - Developing Applications with Adobe Flex and AIR

Adobe Flex and AIR have made building web and desktop applications easier than ever. Flash and Java developers will be comfortable with the language (ActionScript) and other programmers will pick it up quickly. This is a great way to build platform independent applications (Windows, Mac, Linux) that run in the browser or on the desktop.

This session will demonstrate the basic, need-to-know concepts for creating Flex and AIR applications. A 30 day trial of Flex Builder is available for free at adobe.com/flex, so bring your laptops and play along (PS: don't install it too early or you won't be able to use it). I will be giving away a limited number of (retail box) copies of Flex Builder at the end of the session (MSRP $250 each).
